One of the charms about Puerto Viejo that many visitors comments on is the huge selection and variation of so many places to eat in Puerto Viejo.

From street vendors, sushi to high-end Italian, you could spend 2 weeks here just sampling all the many places to eat. Mainly because there are so many foreigners from all different countries and backgrounds here and many of them operate local eating places trying to eek out a living.  And the best part that to date, there is no McDonald’s, KFC, or Burger King.

Here are some of the owner's and hotel staff favourite places to go:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SOCA

Those looking to go out for a night on the town in high style, this is the place to go.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Koki Beach

Bo-Chic in design, Koki delivers an upper class dinning experience to locals and tourists for over 10 years.

Banana Azul, Owner Favourite.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mista Cook

3 generations of local Caribbean family offering an Authentic Caribbean food experience. Great for a group of 4 or more and order "Family Style Seafood Platter". Located in Manzanillo. Nice to combine with a day excursion to Manzanillo or Punta Uva.

Banana Azul, Owner Favourite.

Grow

No, I am not vegetarian.  But that is what makes this place special, non-vegans can really enjoy great healthy non-meat meal options while overlooking a nice beach

Banana Azul, Owner Favourite.
